Woman Warrior

In the memoir “ The Woman Warroir” by Maxine Hong Kingston, her use of description, diction and syntax reflect her chinese culture. The very first page is a prime example of these literary techniques.
The description that Kingston uses reflects her chinese culture. The description portraits what it was like to live in China in the 1920s. Such sentences as “...our village celebrated seventeen hurry-up weddings...” show how different live was back then, when the story took place. Also, the way the mother described the scene with her aunt, tells about the Chinese culture.
