Who is an African

In the two prescribed articles (The idea of an ‘African’ identity ignores the facts) and (I am an African), it can be deduced that to many people, being an African is an “abstract” concept. The question may arise, “is there such a thing as a true African”? In my assignment I hope to find some common ground that we all can agree on, on what may define us and ultimately me as African.

Many years ago the first few ships carrying “Indians”(my forefathers) touched the soils of Africa. Though the ‘Indians’ brought along with them their inherent cultures, one thing remained peculiar to these Indians alone.
