In recent years the internet has become a major source for research, entertainment, communication, and production. Without a doubt, it has its benefits and evils, just like every other medium in the world today. However, a major disadvantage of the internet is that there is no set target age or audience. Anyone can stumble upon mostly anything. In this age of technology, children are being taught the basics of the internet as early as elementary school, so what about all the rubbish on the web that they could encounter while searching for something simple? When used in this fashion, the internet can be a very beneficial resource for learning, but also a detrimental self-esteem crusher for young girls.
