As we all know, we were taught as children to obey crosswalks and signal lights and to watch for turning cars coming from around the corner. We also know that when crossing a main intersection not to just run across the street, especially when we cannot see what's coming around the other side of the big produce truck sitting in the middle of the intersection. A classmate of mine did not obey the rules, and she paid for her actions, in such a terrible way.

The day started out just like any other day. We crossed the roads that needed to be crossed, jumped on the bus and went to school.
