Dear diary,

Today has been very difficult Ngau left today to fight with the samurai. I constantly beg him to leave but he refuses. The samurai have been around for a long time, the only reason he is a samurai is because it runs in the family. It scares me because I think that he will pressure our son into the samurai warriors. I’ve never fully understood the reasons for the samurai, however, I should considering every mealtime with grandfather that we have, and he talks and reminisces about the beginnings of the samurai. Around the same time the shogun, which is a form of military ruler, was formed. The shogun was the most hierarchy with the daimyo as local rulers just beneath that.
