Two Animals at Risk
One of the most unusual interesting warm-blooded mammals is the giant panda. Giant pandas belong to the bear family. At one time scientists did not agree about what kind of mammal the giant panda is. Now scientists clearly agree that giant pandas belong to the bear family. Most giant pandas are found in China. They live in the wild in bamboo forests. Bamboo is a tall grass that is their main food.
Most male giant pandas are about 6 feet long from their heads to their tails. They weigh up to 275lbs and the females are smaller. Giant pandas are unusual because they have thick black and white fur. The unusual markings included black fur on their ears and black circles around their eyes. The rest of their head is covered with thick white hair. Part of their body is covered with black fur and part is covered with white fur.
Giant pandas travel on all four feet. They have short curved claws that they use for protection and eating bamboo shoots. Somethin...
