Troublemakers in Public Schools

In every classroom there is, unfortunately, at least one child that will assume the role of the “troublemaker.” This “troublemaker” is the child that clearly acts out in such a manner that the entire class has to stop what they are doing and focus all of their attention on that child. This has been a problem since the start of public school systems; yet, it seems that no one has come up with a solution to this problem. Maybe we are approaching this problem from the wrong direction. Maybe, instead of trying to subdue the problem quickly by giving them detention or in-school suspension, we should try to solve the underlying problem.
