Tornado

A tornado is a funnel shaped column made out of spinning air. The first sign of a tornado is seeing a funnel shaped column of air extending from the storm cloud above it. As this funnel gets bigger and stronger it extends from the storm cloud touching the ground. Most times the winds from a tornado spin clockwise in the southern hemisphere and counter clockwise in the northern hemisphere. Tornadoes can have wind speeds of 250 mph. and have damaged paths for miles wide and 50 miles long.

Tornadoes can form anywhere in the world or at anytime during a season and areas that has certain conditions. Tornadoes form in the early stages of a thunder storm. Thunderstorms develop in warm moist air in advance of eastward-moving cold fronts. These thunderstorms of ten produce large hail, strong winds, and tornadoes.
