Three Causes of High Expectations from Immigrant Parent

In the article, “Two Kinds”, Amy Tan stated that the daughter, who is Amy Tan, is expected to be a child prodigy because her mother who emigrated from China believes the daughter can be anything she wants in America. Her mother sees other children with amazing talents in America and thinks her child could be just as talented. Nowadays, many Koreans immigrant to America, and they have high expectation of their children such as Amy Tan’s mother. There are three causes of the Korean parents’ expectation such as their economy status, arduous immigrating experiences and environment of immigrating country.
First of all, Korean immigrant has high expectations to their children because of their economy status.
