The similarities between the Egyptian,Mesopotamian and Jewish religions

There were several religions which were an important part of forming the base of what we know today as western civilization. In the following paragraphs I will describe the similarities , as well as differences of the Mesapotamian, Egyptian and Jewish religions.
First I will discuss the similarities and differences of the Egyptians and Mesopotamians. The major similarity of these two religions is the fact that they were both polytheist, which means they worshiped numerous gods.
Mesopotamian religion gave human shape to there gods and was filled with anxiety and pessimism because the gods themselves were unstable and the idea of an afterlife was unknown.
