The Old Man And The Sea

The story takes place in a skiff in the Gulf Stream. Santiago is the main character, and he is a fisherman who is facing a streak of bad luck, and hasn’t caught a fish in 84 days, the first 40 days of his unlucky streak he was accompanied by a young man named Manolin, who had been with Santiago since he was face, but due to Santiago's bad luck Manolin’s parents told him not to fish with the old man, and forced him to join up with a more lucrative boat, in which Manolin ended up catching a good sized fish in his first week.
Santiago is an old man, "Everything about him was old except his eyes and they were the same color as the sea and were cheerful and undefeated." After making a good amount of money, Manolin tells Santiago that he wants to fish with him again, Manolin never wanted to leave him, but had to honor his parents.
