The importance of effective communication in the development of scientific advancements

Effective communication is imperative in the understanding and public acceptance of scientific advancements. Without it, the continual criticism of the effects of these findings will continue to rise. In order for this information to be conveyed effectively, an understanding or, common language allowing even basic comprehension, between scientific experts and society must be developed. The nature of interaction between scientists and the public is determined by relationships and the development of trust both in the people relaying the information and those who receive it. By appealing to the complex and varying mixture of human emotions and beliefs, numerous audiences may be reached. The rapport created between experts and society must be reinforced by rapport between mass media and the scientific community ensuring the uniformity of presented information to avoid any conflicting results.
