Throughout history here in America there has always been some form of verbal acrobatics or jousting involving rhymes within the Afro-American community. This is hip-hop, the formation of rhymes beats and melodies all collaborated into one. Hip hop started in the 1970’s in Queens, New York when people started to figure out that disco can lead to a whole new type of music when you switch the beats and style.
Hip-hop is not just about rhyming, hip-hop is a culture it is a way of life and many live their lives through the hip-hop world.
