The Shocking Truth About Death in the Electric Chair

This paper is going to cover the history of the electric chair, who invented it and built the first chair. It’s going to cover the procedure for death in the electric chair, the first electrocution, and medical evidence that shows electrocution is cruel and inhumane, and the first man and woman to be killed in the chair.
New York State introduced the electric chair as a “modern” and humane alternative to hanging in 1890. It soon became the preferred method of execution in the majority of the states. Ohio was the second state to introduce the electric chair. Massachusetts followed in 1898, New Jersey in 1906, Virginia in 1908 and North Carolina in 1910. 4,308 people have been electrocuted in 27 states between 1890 and 1966.
