The effects of ICT on the environment

The introduction of ICT in society promised many things, one being the creation of a paperless office and a global society. However it is difficult to examine whether or not this has taken place. Although ICT may have effected the environment in reducing the amount of paper being used, there are other issues involving the use of ICT that are very harmful to the environment.

1. Aim
Identify the positive and negative effects that ICT has had on the environment and discuss possible ways in which to resolve these negative effects.

With the development of ICT, there have been positive effects on the environment, as the amount of paper being used is reduced due to the following developments in ICT.
