“Friendship is far stronger than love” Do you agree?

Friendship in The Divine Wind is far stronger than love. The town of Broome, being as small as it is, has only a small population in the 1940’s. The people of Broome know everything that happens in every persons life’s, word travels real fast.
It’s not easy finding love in Broome, everyone is so close and I guess it would be weird for anyone to experience love, friendship takes over in everyone.
The reason for this is, at this period of time in 1940 a war had broken lose and people start fearing for their lifes. Many individuals have no time for love, but all they have is friends and family to depend on to make it through the long wait for the invasion to be over.
As Hartley and Mitsy discover, love cannot last because their friendship is too valuable to lose. As for Ida and Michael Penrose, their lose couldn’t last due to Ida feeling homesick for her hometown England. Alice and Carl Vennings also had troubles stay...
