The Decline in Morals

Since the beginning of time morals have been a part of all societies. The advent of this concept however is not truly clear. In many animal communities it has been observed many features that are common to what we as society today see as moral standards. Animals such as lions and others have been observed taking care of and providing for their young (Titus, 1957). We have also been able to observe social structures and hierarchies of society in lower intellectual animals ( Titus, 1957). These observations in other species have made it very difficult to establish an origin for this important concept. Today in this paper it will be shown that this moral decline can be traced to more than one factor. Two will be examined closely slavery and poverty as sources of this moral decline.
