The Crucible is defined as a serve test or trial. The Crucible is about the Salem Witchcraft trials. Elizabeth Proctor is a sweet, loving woman, who has been through some tough times with her husband, John. She has 3 children, and she has been sick for some time. Rev. Hale is a man who has come to Salem to do some research on the things going on around in Salem. John Proctor is a man who works around on his farm to keep it looking good. He has done a bad sin with Abigail Williams, and he has had some dark times with Elizabeth.

Elizabeth is a woman who is cold, lonely, has 3 children, and has some conflict with her husband John sometimes. She is suspicious of him because he had an affair, and she still does not trust him. One example is on page 53. Elizabeth says “you can’t keep it John”. She gets angry with him. Elizabeth means that John cannot keep the what he knows from the court. Another example is on page 54...
