The Courting of Dunya

Many things have changed over the years but a man courting a woman remained the same. Maybe the ways of doing it have changed but the basic concept remained the same. Sometimes even living in the new millennium we can relate ourselves with old character like Dunya from the novel, “Crime and Punishment,” written by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Characters like her will always be around us, who have been taken advantage of due to their helpless situation but that does not indicate that they are weak but rather they become stronger from situation like the one Dunya had to go through. Dunya is one of the characters, who remain confident and in control of her worst situation throughout the novel. In the novel we encountered three men who ere courting Dunya but only one was successful out of the three which reminds us that it is very risky.
