The Cello

Her footsteps echo in the empty hall. The pristine tile floors are neatly swept and the florescent lights glare down at her as if suspicious. Her whole body trembles, surging with excitement and nervousness. He hand grips the neck of her cello as if for security. She fills her nostrils with cleansing air and steps onto the stage. Beads of sweat break out on her forehead as she meets the glowing lights. She settles in her chair and brings herself to meet the staring eyes of the audience. They smile and gree...
