The Central Forensic Science Institute is preparing to conduct a second autopsy of the body of Hangthong Thammawattana, following a Scottish forensic expert's finding that the late Bangkok MP did not shoot himself.

The autopsy would be conducted by Khunying Pornthip Rojanasunant, deputy director-general of the institute and her team at Thammasat Rangsit hospital in Pathum Thani this week.

Hangthong's body had been kept frozen in a coffin at Wat Phra Si Mahathat in Bangkhen district.

The first autopsy was conducted four years ago by forensic experts at the Police Hospital, who were convinced Hangthong committed suicide.
