Suicide: An Escape From Reality?
Picture yourself walking in and finding a friend or a loved one hanging from a rafter or seeing them dead, lying next to an empty bottle of pills. This is something that is not rare to society today. For many people, dealing with reality does not come easily. They may try to find different ways to cope with the pressure of life. Some involve themselves in hobbies of some sort to take their minds off of their worries. Not everyone can find a safe and healthy way to deal with stress. Some teenagers turn to drugs and alcohol, and for some, that isn’t even enough. In “Paul’s Case”, Paul does not use drugs or alcohol. He simply lives in a fantasy world; the boredom of everyday life is too much for him. He is tired of everything being the same. He finally turns to what he and many other teenagers feel is their only other option: suicide.
