The US keeps repeating the claim that last Friday’s Iraq market bombing — which reportedly killed 60 civilians — may well have been the result of an errant Iraqi missle, noting that coalition forces had no targeted missions in the area at the time of the explosion. But the April 1 Guardian reported the recovery of missile fragments bearing the weapon’s “cage code,” which is the manufacturer’s identification code (similar to a serial code you would use to identify a piece of electronics equipment).
