Sources of Capital – PepsiCo
PepsiCo is a world leader in convenient foods and beverages with revenues of $27 billion and over 140,000 employees. PepsiCo’s main objective is “to increase the value of it’s shareholder’s investment through integrated operating, investing and financing activities, while it’s strategy is to concentrate on it’s own resources to continually grow the business” (Corporate Overview, 2002). This paper will look very briefly at how PepsiCo generates capital through financing and investing activities.
Financing activities.
An analysis of PepsiCo’s 2001 Statement of Cash Flows shows that a decrease in cash and cash equivalents from operating activities was used primarily for investing and financing activities. It is stated that the cash used in financing activities reflects stock issues, share repurchases, dividend payments, and long-term debt payments.
