What is a CV?
A skill sheet which gives a summary of your experiences to date, a CV is your first (and sometimes last) chance to make a positive impression on a prospective employer. The document needs to be totally up to date, with personal details like your address, phone number and age clearly set out for all to see. Things like work experience, extra-curricular achievements and personal aims should be included, but make sure you update your CV on a regualr basis. There's nothing worse than applying for a graduate job with a CV that tells the world all about your aims for your time at Sixth Form college...

Where to start
Paul Farrer, Managing Director of the Graduate Recruitment Company, believes the single most important feature of a CV is its layout. 'A CV should be easy to navigate,' he explains.
