Society and Religion

How has society as a whole evolutionized in their ideas of religion and the definition of civil religion?

Society today places greater faith in themselves and the world around them rather than placing their faith in a religion. Technology and economical changes have created a new world of material expression and a belief of one’s own success without the influence of a drastic use of a personal religion. Along with new ideas of what religion means and the degree of it in our society, Americans, as well as other people, are changing their views on “civil religion” and its definition. Our ideas for punishment of evil and what evil truly is has changed tremendously over the years as human beings. Americans believe that religion is an element that is as important as those who believe in a certain religion. For example, those who believe primitive religion and its subsects are seen as less important as those who believe in say Christianity or Judaism. In America, we live ...
