Detergents are one of the most helpful, and useful things in the United States, and in the world. These soaps wash our clothes and make everyone's life easier. There are many different detergents to choose from, some great, some mediocre. Though some are better than others, they all have the same chief ingredients, fats and chemicals called alkalis.

The making of soap involves a very complicated chemical process. A variety of chemicals may be used, including petroleum as well as animal fats and vegetable oils.
