This is a problem that every human being has to resolve, the eternal destiny of every human being depends upon it. Let us examine what the Holy Bible tells us about the origin of sin, the consequences it brings and the remedy to defeat it. 1. The definition of sin What is sin according to the Holy Bible? James 4:17 1. Not doing what we should do. James 4:17 (GNB) so then, if we do not do the good we know we should do, we are guilty of sin. 2. Transgression of the word of God. 1John 3:4 (Webster) whoever committed sin transgressed also the law; for sin is the transgression of the law. 3. All Unrighteousness 1John 5:17 f.p.
