Science Vs. Religion

Where did I come from? Where am I going? These are the two most commonly asked questions of all time. They can be answered in two ways, with science or religion. Is there a conflict or can they co-exist? It is very difficult to choose one over the other because one is based on fact and logic while the other is built on belief and hope. The Pocket Oxford Dictionary states ‘belief’ as the ‘firm opinion, trust or confidence.’ And it is this belief that we use to form our own opinion on the questions, where did I come from? Where am I going?

Christians use the Bible, specifically the book of Genesis, to support their belief of creation, while scientists support their ideas with observational data and mathematical calculations. Although the Bible provides a credible explanation for the origin of Earth and its life forms, the scientific perspective of creation presents a thorough explanation of the beginnings of the Earth and man with more information and evidence.
