Role of Language in Organisational Knowledge Creation and Exploitation Organisational knowledge and knowledge management play a central role within the current discourse on the "theory of the firm". Within the boundaries of a social "micro-system" such as the firm, however, knowledge flows are transferred as well as are formulated by language mechanisms. It follows then that language, conceptualised not only in its oral / written but also in its symbolic instantiation, is a critical factor that needs to be taken into account.
