Holden Caulfield is basically an atheist meaning one who disbeliefs the existence of God or other Gods. His father came from Ireland was a Catholic, but he quit after he married his mother. Most people of Irish descent are Catholics. He specifically doesn’t have a religion. Holden Claimed, “Catholics are always trying to find out if you are a Catholic”, and it drives him nuts. Holden only likes Jesus but he doesn’t care too much for most of the other stuff in the Bible, especially the Disciples.
