Puritan Literature


Despite what many think, the Puritans had several types of literature. The most common form of literature when thinking of the Puritans is related to Biblical teachings, or sermons written by church leaders. They thought if they studied the Bible, they could learn more about a new way of life that they are living in the New World. They believed that they were in this “New World” because God had brought them there and had a special purpose for them there. They went to church very regularly to study even more about the bible.
