In the course of discussion, several terms are used to indicate current or preferred situations, alternatives and legal strategies. To understand the definitions of legalized, decriminalized, regulated prostitution, etc., we need to understand the context in which these terms are used. Defining terms for contemporary discussion Although there have always been reformist efforts and movements concerning prostitution, the prostitutes' rights movement, as we know it today, began in the late 60's and early 70's.
