Overview

In the 21st century buildings are increasingly being recognised as important – leading to the evolution of Facilities Management. This is effectively a services sector, so it is important to find out what it is that the customer wants. This requirement has lead to the development of the Post Occupancy Evaluation in order for the developer to find what the customer wants and be able to create better buildings/environments for the future.

Building in Value

The buildings in which people work are recognised as being more than just a shell that protects the workers inside from the elements. Buildings are now recognised as being a dynamic part of the business and a key contributor to its potential success. It is recognised that if workers are provided with a building in which to work that is congruous with their needs, then those workers will become more productive and efficient.
