POLITICS

1. There are two questions about government: Who governs? Also to what ends do they govern?
One wants to know the distinct answer to the first question because he or she believes that those who rule and their personalities and character affects what they do for us. The answer to the second question is important because it tells us how government affects our lives and to what extent they can do so.
2. Power is the ability of one person to get another person to act in accordance with the first person’s intentions. Political power is when power is used to affect who will hold government office and how government will behave. The authority of political power is sometimes disputed but by authority we mean the right to use power. What makes political power rightful is a question of legitimacy.
