“Party on Dudes! Ignorance is the Curse of the Information Age” examines American culture and our ignorance specifically in historical, political and social issues. Matthew Robinson uses statistics that shows the influence of quality education and media polling has on the citizens’ willingness and commitment to politics and current democratic theory. Robinson analyzes polling, a quantative research method, to generalize our current culture and its social interaction with politics, pop culture.
The statistics throughout the beginning of this article would humble almost anybody from my generation simply because we are the brunt of modern technology. We gather research from a computer. We are key targets for advertising and consumer products. One shocking statement from Robinson is, “More Americans recognize the Nike advertising slogan ‘Just Do It’ than know where the right to ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness’ is set forth (79 percent versus 47)...
