The movie "Pleasentville" is about change and trying to accept it. The director uses both allusion and color to show this. "Pleasentville" discusses changes to society. It suggests that, over time, we have replaced "pleasentness" with knowledge. We don't know what is next but we prefer to change to stagnation. It is better to go forward then to go back.
