Personal Goals

While returning to school may not be a cure all for the few problems in my life, I see it as an avenue to eliminate any self-esteem issues that stemmed from failure to complete a degree program. The classes I will take at the University of Phoenix will compliment and hone my natural abilities. Finally, with completion of my degree program, I also see advancement and consequently greater earning power.
I am very self-assured and self-confident. I know I am capable of doing anything I decide upon, but lack of a formal education allows for self-doubt. Returning to school, completing my degree program will give me a better sense of autonomy as well as how I see myself in my family setting. I will never forget an interview I went on with a dentist in midtown Atlanta. He was extremely interested in me, but when he asked what my degree was and I told him I did not have a degree, he put a frown face next to the education heading on my resume.
