Pearl Harbor
Japanese Commander-in-Chief Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto was correct when he said these words to predict the future, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a great resolve.” The attacks of pearl harbor on December 7th 1941, was a watershed in the history of the United States and the world. Recession caused people to scale back their life style. Shortages of everyday items made life more difficult for men, women, and children.
Because of the supplies needed for WWII, there were shortages of gasoline, rubber, meat and sugar. The war effort made it hard for civilians to live the life they had become accustomed to. Even though the country suffered, everyone supported the war effort. Families made ...
