Patriot Act “The Patriot Act” After the 9/11 attacks occurred crime is looked at in a different perspective as well as the citizens of this nation. On October 26, 2001 President Bush signed the U.S.A Patriot Act (USAPA) into law. It states that search and seizure can be done at anytime at anyplace and to whomever. In responds to September 11, 2001 the government has chosen to strip Americans of their laws. The Fourth Amendment requires probable cause and prohibits unreasonable searches and seizure. The act violates our Fourth Amendment rights. Some time this summer around the month of August my friend went out with his friend out for the night. My friend had no idea what was about to take place. He was just driving when suddenly the cops came out of left field and stopped him. They made him get out of his car, threw him on the floor as well as his friends.
