paternal love

"I never knew my dad, I think he left before I was born."

"I know my dad, but we don't even get along. I don't even like him."

"I wish I had somebody else as my father."

If you live in a group home its common to hear a lot of kids talk about the father or mother that they never had, and how they wish they had a different father or mother. But what they don't know is that there are other people, whether they are close or just met that would consider him/her as a son or daughter.

I consider "Dee" as my dad and he consider me as his own too. It would be cool if he was my real dad. Life is full of other people that will probably treat you and love you more than you're own family, its up to you to find them.

For me I found "Dee." and now I'm happier than ever.

In becoming a son there is change. Change that is a new experience when you find a father that you never had. I thought that I would never be able to trust or love some...
