good vs. evil throughout Othello

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, good can be defined as
something conforming to the moral order of the universe or of a favorable character or
tendency. Evil can be defined as the fact of suffering, misfortune, and wrongdoing or a
cosmic evil force. Each character throughout the play display these characteristics in their
own way.

Iago is the most evil nature character of them all. He manipulates the other

characters which forces them to display their own evil nature. The main victim of Iago is

Othello, who portrays many flaws such as jealousy and ignorance. The “honorable” Cassio

is another evil nature character beneath his exterior. Desdemona is the only true and pure

good character in the play, granted her age.

Iago is the stem for the evil element in the novel. He is cunning, untrustworthy
and selfish, yet others perceive him as “honest” Iago. Not only is it in his own nature...
