In this story one man, Iago, is wrapped up in only his well being. He creates turmoil and even death amongst people who consider him to be a good friend . Othello is a general in the Venetian Army who falls in love with Desdemona, the daughter of the Venetian senator, Brabantio. Without the consent of Brabantio, Desdemona leaves home and marries Othello. Iago is angered because Othello gave the position of lieutenant to Cassio. Iago then plots to create troubles in the lives of Othello and Cassio. In talking of this revenge on Othello he states “for my sport and profit. I hate the Moorâ€(Act 1 sc 3 ln 429). He persuades Roderigo, a gullible man who has a past with Desdemona, to do all that he can to get her. They then inform her father of her eloping. Her father is enraged and sends his men to find Othello. This creates tension between Othello and Brabantio, who believes Othello poisoned his daughter to make...
