Othello Tragedy is a type of drama or literature that shows the downfall or destruction of a noble or outstanding person, traditionally one who possesses a character weakness called a tragic flaw. The tragic hero, through choice or circumstance, is caught up in a sequence of eventst that inevitably results in disaster. These terms can all apply to the Shakespearean plays Othello and Julius Ceaser, with the characters Othello and Brutus as the tragic heroes. First and foremorst, Othello possesses the qualities of a hero by being a top general in Venice. Othello takes on the trecherous role as the head of the army and is successful at his position. Not only is Othello a born leader, but he is born of great rank from a noble family. He has it all together and is a role model to his citizens.
