Nike

As I understand it, a lot of students want the University of Oregon to join the WRC. There were a high percentage of voters in favor of joining. The WRC demands that corporations disclose where their products are made and how the labor force is treated. It is also says that oversea factories should no longer be inspected by the current organization (FLA), seeing how Nike funded. I completely understand the demands, but I wonder if the protesters have looked at it on a more global scale.
I don’t think the WRC (protester) have considered the difference in currency throughout the different countries. Ours is one of the most wealthy and therefore we find each other striving for better jobs, however, in the countries where the sweatshops exist, the economy is much less developed which means that much more cheap to live. Yes, it is true that they are getting paid much less than we could ever imagine, but in their country it is above minimum wage. These people do not have to work in ...
