Nicotine is an addictive drug, which when inhaled, smoke reaches the brain faster than drugs that enter the body intravenously. Smokers become physically addicted to nicotine. Smoking causes health problems, changes a person’s physical appearance and creates financial burdens. People should not smoke cigarettes.
The first reason not to smoke is health reasons. Smoking causes lung cancer. Lung cancer is responsible for thousands of deaths each year in America. Smoking also causes emphysema. Emphysema is a degenerative disease that usually develops after many years of inhaling cigarette smoke. This circumstance makes it hard for a person to breath.
