MUSEUM VISIT


My choice of museums to visit was The Dallas Museum of Art, located at 1717 N. Harwood, Dallas, Texas. . My museum impressions were that the Dallas Museum of Art on Harwood has a wide variety of art collections & multiple galleries. The gallery on the Second floor is the European gallery. This is where I chose this one drawing from a series of print s titled THE MISERIES OF WAR, by Jacques Callot.
In this print I see many troops in a fort type surrounding. The troops appear to be training or preparing to go off to battle. There appears to be a planning or meeting of leaders happening under cover of the safety of a large shade tree in the foreground. The artist is displaying a high repetition of uniformity.
