The two texts “All quiet on the western front” and “Platoon” are both about the main characters experiences of war. They are set in different times, “All quiet” in the first world war of early 1900’s, and “Platoon” in the mid to late 1960’s. There are still many similarities between the two, along with their differences.
The issues raised about war in the two texts are very meaningful in some scenes, and this is shown through the use of several techniques. There is one similarity between the two where the use of though reflections of the main characters Paul (All quiet) and Chris (Platoon). These are very affective in showing the reader and viewer an inside look into there emotions. It works particularly well in showing the hardships of war, like losi...
