Modern Timesby Charlie Chaplin

The movie “Modern Times” was directed, written, and produced by Charlie Chaplin between 1932 and 1936. The setting of the movie is the United States during the great depression. In fact the film’s main concerns are unemployment, poverty and hunger. During this period, machines where beginning to spread all around the world to produce things faster. In fact, Chaplin’s main goal in this movie is to show us the relationship between humans and machines. In fact, he wants us to know that machines are not good for us because they take away the humanity from people that use them because those people start behaving like machines. This movie also portrays Chaplin’s final stand against the synchronized sound film. Then Chaplin makes really evident the value of time in the film.
