Me

As an Iranian-American I have been influenced by the American culture as well as the Iranian culture. Both of my parents were raised in Iran, and they were of the few immigrants who came to the U.S. in their early 20’s and did not become Americanized. The culture in Iran compared to the United States is very different. People dress differently, people act differently, and people have different standards. Generally, the Iranian culture is very conservative. In Iran people are very particular about education and so are my parents. They stress this very much and it has become a priority for me.
My family follows their culture quite closely so I have to make the same commitment. Even though education is the main concern of my parents, it is not an issue because it is what I am striving for also.
